Welcome to
Hayward Collegiate!

Who We Are

Hayward Collegiate Charter School was founded in 2018 by Neena Goswamy, a former Teach For America corps member and school leader. Ms. Goswamy envisioned a school that would provide rigorous academics, individualized support, and college preparation for the students of Hayward, a diverse and underserved community in the Bay Area.

High-Performing, Joyous Classrooms

In 2019, Hayward Collegiate opened its doors to 120 students in transitional kindergarten through first grade. The school quickly established a reputation for excellence and joy, achieving high academic growth and positive culture. The school also fostered strong partnerships with families and community organizations, such as the Hayward Promise Neighborhood and the Hayward Public Library.

In 2020, Hayward Collegiate joined Navigator Schools, a network of high-performing public charter schools in California. Navigator Schools shares Hayward Collegiate’s mission of empowering students to have agency over their lives and preparing them for the college of their choice. As part of Navigator Schools, Hayward Collegiate benefits from the network’s resources, best practices, and support.
